Presidential Election 2008 Update: A last chance, secret meetings, a surrender, and two final nominees - Oh the MADNESS!

Well nation, the United States 2008 Presidential Election is finally nearing to a close as the final primaries in North and South Dakota end, and Democratic hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton throwing in the towel guaranteeing Republican senator John McCain, and Democratic senator Barack Obama a shot at the White House. With the presidential primaries in North and South Dakota having ended, Barack Obama already had enough delegates to secure his nomination, while senator Clinton was a few delegates behind. Hillary needed to win North and South Dakota to get a spot on the ballot, but unfortunately for her, she couldn’t rack up enough delegates to secure her nomination. The very next night after these two primaries, Sen. Clinton arranged a secret meeting at Dianne Feinstein’s house, who also happens to be a senator, with Barack Obama. That evening, as Sen. Feinstein told the news reports, “They sat down by the fire place, I gave them water, and I went upstairs to my office to finish my work. It was only the two of them, no guards, no aides, no one. They said goodbye to me when they finished, and left my house laughing.” Many news reports and political analysts agree that they were discussing the possibility of Hillary being Obama’s running mate. I personally agree with this theory, as Hillary Clinton was talking about “simple diplomacy” meaning that her and Obama may merge together as one in the presidential election. On June 7th, Hillary Clinton addressed a speech to the entire nation, saying “It has been a long and hard race…and I am officially suspending my campaign for the President of the United States of America.” At the end of the speech, Hillary Clinton announced that she would start endorsing Barack Obama’s campaign and asked the democratic party to vote for Barack Obama for “simple diplomacy”. Now as this very important piece of history has unfolded before our very eyes, many of us are wondering “Where will this election end up?” Well, I believe that first, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain deserve a round of applause (despite their sex, color, or party) because they have all had the guts to stay in the race this far, they have survived one of the greatest “dog fights” that I think America has seen in decades. I also think that all of the publicity that the election has gained, will suddenly slow down, or come to a screeching halt. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are very popular political figures, not only because of their cultural and historical differences (this pertaining to the US presidency, as all presidents have been white men), but also because of the fight that they put up, that is what really intrigued America, that a Black man, and a White woman were taking a chance of becoming president of the United States. I now believe that since Hillary has dropped out, CNN, Fox News, CBS, and America itself, will grow less interested in the race and just stop tuning in. They probably won’t grow very interested, until that ACTUAL election in November. I personally am growing slightly dis-parted from the election because that connection between Obama and Clinton just isn’t there anymore. But rest assured, I will always be here to give you the news that really matters.
